Bush, Beach and Art Tour

 

Only 30 kilometres from downtown Auckland is the city's largest regional park, the Waitakere Ranges. Leave behind the bustle of the city and step into the tranquility of the rainforest.

Depart 9:45am, Return 5:00pm   
Guests to supply meeting organisers with any dietary requirements they may have.      

 

ITINERARY

9:45am:  Guests to meet at the Registration Desk at Aotea Centre.

10:00am:  Depart Aotea Centre bound for Auckland's west coast.

Morning:  Our first stop will be at the Arataki Centre perched high on the ridge of the Waitakere Ranges to enjoy breathtaking panoramic views from the Manukau Harbour to the Pacific Ocean. We will continue on to the lush rainforest where you can walk the easy bush tracks amongst giant fern trees and view New Zealand's famous kauri trees. Our last stop before lunch will be to experience the power of the wild and rugged west coast. Feel the black sand beneath your feet as you stroll along some of the most awe-inspiring beaches the world has to offer. 

Afternoon:  Enjoy lunch at a local cafe before we visit the West Coast Gallery. The gallery is a dynamic, non profit, community arts venue, which exhibits and sells the unique artworks of over 200 artists residing in the West area of Auckland City. Managed by the West Coast Community Arts Trust, for the last 15 years the trust has sold art on behalf of members and used the commission on sales to run the gallery. Any profit obtained has been given back to the community in the form of art events, workshops, exhibitions, community events, and used to fund work in local schools and pre-schools. The range of art on offer includes painting, ceramics, sculpture, jewellery, photography, glass works, mixed media, bronze, flax, local authors and CD’s by Waitakere musicians.       

5:00pm:  Arrival back at the Aotea Centre.

 

INCLUSIONS

Per person prices include road transport, driver, tour guide, Regional Park access fee, bottled water, lunch with tea/coffee/non alcoholic beverages, afternoon tea and New Zealand Goods and Services Tax at 15%.      

Guests to pay directly on the day for all other beverages (other than tea/coffee/non alcoholic beverages) they have with lunch.
